Dr Chresta C. Kaluba is the Chief Risk Officer of Access Bank Zambia. He leads the Bank’s enterprise-wide risk management and ensures that risk is embedded at the heart of strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.
With more than a decade of experience in financial management and risk leadership, Dr Kaluba has established and strengthened risk management frameworks across the banking sector and has guided institutions through periods of transformation and growth.
Recognised for combining rigorous analysis with strategic foresight, Dr. Kaluba frames risk as a source of competitiveness and innovation rather than mere control. His published research and thought-leadership writings challenge traditional risk orthodoxies and position risk as an essential architecture of strategy, influencing both industry practice and policy debate.
He holds a PhD in Business & Management from the University of Zambia, an MSc in Strategic Business Management from Manchester Metropolitan University, an MSc in Finance and Accounting from the University of Wales, and a BSc in Production Management from the Copperbelt University. He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CIMA Fellow) and a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, Zambia.
