Mr. Seyi Kumapayi is a seasoned banking professional with over 25 years of experience in Finance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Treasury. He served as the Group Chief Financial Officer of Access Bank Plc, significantly contributing to the bank’s growth and its status as Nigeria’s largest retail bank. His career at Access Bank began in 2002, where he was responsible for Financial Control and Credit Risk Management. Prior to this role, he held important positions at First City Monument Bank Limited and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc respectively.
Mr. Kumapayi is a distinguished alumnus of Harvard Business School with an Executive MBA from IMD. He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also earned an Executive Master’s in Digital Transformation & Innovation Leadership from IE School of Science and Technology in Spain.
Director Kumapayi has participated in various Executive Management Development programmes at institutions such as Harvard, INSEAD, IMD, and London Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a member of GARP, CITN, and CIBN. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Ogun State Security Trust Fund.
