Access Bank Zambia Commences System Integration with former Atlas Mara
Enhances seamless and unified customer experience
Access Bank Zambia Limited (“Access Bank”) has commenced the process of integrating its Core Banking Systems. This follows the successful amalgamation of Access Bank and Atlas Mara Zambia on 30th April 2024.
The integration of the banking systems will unify bank operations and deliver an enhanced, seamless banking experience to customers. Scheduled for completion by 18th November 2024, the integration marks a significant milestone in Access Bank's journey to set a new standard in digital banking, operational efficiency, and customer service.
As we work to consolidate the two banks onto a single, robust platform, we have commenced engagements with various stakeholders, on the expected impact of the integration on various services.
Key changes following the integration include a change in branch name for those in proximity, and an update to former Atlas Mara sort codes and SWIFT Code effective 18th November 2024. Access Bank Zambia’s SWIFT Code (AZAMZMLU) will replace the former Atlas Mara Swift Code. Customers are encouraged to update their records to prevent any delays in international transactions.
Access Bank has implemented robust risk mitigation measures to ensure a smooth transition. Throughout this period, regular updates will be provided to keep customers and various stakeholders informed.
Commenting on this development, Access Bank Zambia Managing Director Lishala C. Situmbeko said, “The integration of our core banking systems is a transformative step in delivering a streamlined, efficient, and customer-centric experience for our clients. Through this harmonisation, we aim to drive innovation and improve service delivery, so our customers can fully benefit from being part of a larger, Pan-African banking network.”
Commenting on the impact of the integration on customers, Deputy Managing for Retail Banking and Operations, Bobbline Cheembela said, “Customers remain our priority throughout this transition. To ensure a seamless execution, account numbers will not change. With the change in former Atlas Mara Sort Codes and SWIFT codes, we advise customers to adopt the revised details as soon as they are effected on 18th November 2024. The bank will continue to process incoming and outgoing transfers received with previous details until a cut-off date to be communicated.”
Deputy Managing Director Wholesale Banking Iheanyi Nwogu said; “Our operating systems are an important part of our growth strategy, and this integration reflects our continued commitment, underscoring the innovation, passion, and customer focus that we at Access Bank Zambia will continue to bring to our customers and the broader communities we serve.”
The integration is a pivotal step toward providing improved efficiency and an enhanced banking experience. We look forward to sharing the benefits of this integration with the Zambian market.
