Gertrude Musyani is a legal practitioner called to the Zambian bar in 1997. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Herriot Watt Edinburgh Business School, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Zambia. She is a qualified Arbitrator (FCIArb) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK and Zambia branches.
She is a member of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) and has served on its Council, serves as Elections Officer and is a Member of the Women’s Rights Board of the Association.
Gertrude is a seasoned and strong legal and governance professional with solid corporate and commercial practice experience in banking and financial sector since 2008. As a skilled civil litigator, her areas of practice extended to private law practice, government, and non-governmental.
Prior to joining Access Bank Zambia, Gertrude served as Head Legal at First National Bank Zambia Limited (FNB) where she was responsible for the management of all legal aspects of the Banks’ business with support to company secretariat function. She also served as Senior Legal Manager at Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc, Senior Litigation Associate at Corpus Legal Practitioners, Senior Advocate at Zambia Development Agency (formerly Zambia Privatization Agency) and Advocate at the National Legal Clinic for women.
Gertrude has served as a Non-Executive Member on the Boards of Zambia Institute of Mass Communication Education Trust, Lusaka Water Sewerage Company Limited and Zambia Revenue Authority, a Committee Member on Legal & Corporate Services Committee of Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation and Audit Committee of Zambia Public Procurement Agency and Vice Chairperson & Member on Audit Committee of Ministry of Youth, Sport & Child Development. She further served as Vice Chairperson on the Police Public Complaints Commission and a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court.
